More information about the group

Quart Creixent proposes and plays, depending on the occassion, two types of repertoires: for popular dancing meetings (where you will find jotes, boleros, mateixes, fandangos, etc.) and for recitals (where you will find characteristic Majorcan songs, some from Catalonia and even some from other places in the Mediterranian Sea). In both types of repertories they usually play their own versions of traditional themes as well as songs they have created.

Quart Creixent has played many times all around the island of Majorca, usually as part of popular dancing meetings and sometimes in a recital. They were finalists in the Art Jove 2001 competition (folk and ethnic music form). They have participated in recitals and dancing events in all the other islands of the Balearics (Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera), and in some places of Catalonia: International Festival of CAT, Feast of Sa Pobla at Gracia and Feast of La Tamborinada at the Ciutadella park (City of Barcelona); 3rd Festival of traditional music and dances in Cartella (Sant Gregori, Girona); Art Museum of Sabadell and VI Festival of traditional origins spectacles of Manresa (Barcelona), among others.

Quart Creixent is included in the lists of the 'Traditional Music Circuit of the Consell de Mallorca' and also in the program 'Live the culture 2003-2004' (Govern Balear) with their project 'A walk by our traditional music'. They also have their own sound equipment.
